In this newsletter we look at some of our most popular country and city themes as we visit Mexico, Japan, Africa, Morocco, USA and Paris. This is just a small sample of the variety of props we have that you can use to create themed rooms and stands for travel expos, national holiday events and parties.
Take a little trip over the Mexican border to set a colourful scene for your next themed event or private function.
Simply fill your venue space with a selection of Mexican props and decorative elements such as brightly hand painted vases and urns, metal ware, wall hangings, religious iconography and carved animals, as well as wooden barrels, stacked haybales and strings of festoon lighting.
A colourful Mexican style service cart and handpainted full size Mexican horse add to the fun of the theme, whilst simple rustic furniture comfortably accomodates your guests.
This theme is always a hit and a popular choice for private events and special occasion. Always colourful during the day and absolutely stunning by night!
Japan is the land of serenity, tradition and beauty.
With an amazing history, culinary repertoire and beautiful majestic landscapes, Japan is a popular international theme.
Combine illuminated blossom trees with rice paper screens, low tables and stool to create instantly a Japanese feel. We have bonsai trees you can use to create zen gardens and all sorts of lanterns to fill the sky.
Other notable props include our carts, umbrellas, torii gate and samurai armour.
We have many country themes here at Sydney Prop Specialists and one of the most popular is Africa.
Large animal props are always great attention grabbers and a room full of elephants, hippos, zebras and rhinoceros certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. We also have giraffes and cheetahs, gorillas and monkeys, snakes and lizards and a great series of lush jungle backdrops to compliment the animals, as well as a fantastic painted cloth depicting the Serengeti.
Wooden bridges, native carvings, colourful cut-outs, torches, jungle vegetation, overgrown stone ruins, naturalistic waterfalls, rocks and boulders, thatched huts and service bars – even miniature animals as table centrepieces. Our Moroccan Theme is similar to our Arabian Theme in that there are many Arabic influences. However with Morocco we add some European touches.
Create marketplaces with our carts, market umbrellas, urns, metal pots and lanterns. Use baskets to display colourful spices and use mosaic vases and candle holders, doors and arches to add European and Spanish architectural influences.

We have American flags, two large oversized three dimensional coins, a statue of liberty and American eagles.
There are American prop packages and backdrops to suit any size venue. We have an American presidential election room set. Some ideas for a New York setting: a star curtain backdrop with an oversized American dime dressed with a collage of the statue of liberty and the two eagles on plinths, border the stage with a set of American flags.
A central park scene can be created with flower urns, statues, street lamps green hedge walls, a gazebo and a chess set.
Alternatively we can travel to New Orleans-Mississippi with a southern American theme including our paddle steamer backdrop, street carts, street furniture.
Perhaps, an American set could include our graffiti bar and grunge street scene with a yellow cab and old car parts, smoke and garbage?
The face of America, most famous, is Hollywood. Roll out the red carpet for Elvis and Marilyn Monroe, or travel to space with our Apollo rocket, paddle down stream to our American Indian village, or ride a wagon into our wild west township.

Paris is where the magic happens and you can be transported to the romantic glow of the city and the streets teaming with fashion, style and elegance.
We have several versions of the Eiffel tower as a 3D model and also cutouts. We can also create a Moulin Rouge theme with our windmill and sign.
For a chic Parisian cafe use our wrough iron garden furniture and street lights to add that European style.
