In this newsletter we look at seven fantastic themes to make your end-of-year event something to remember. Vintage Circus, Alice in Wonderland, Arabian, Jungle, Great Gatsby, Masquerade and Hollywood.
Circus Props and Theming
Brightly painted circus podiums, plinths, funny mirrors, animal cages, hay bales, barrels and sideshow alley features are used to style the space. Add a Box Office, pretzel stand and kissing booth along with a chocolate wheel and raffle barrel to engage and surprise your guests. Complete the theme with exotic animals such as zebras, elephants, giraffes, rhinoceros, lions, tigers, colourful carousel horses, a strong man and a variety of clowns and acrobats. Food service carts and vendor trays can be supplied as well as tables and seating, table decor, lighting, star cloths, velvet drapes and red carpet.

Alice in Wonderland Theme
A popular theme inspired by “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll
For a fun filled fantasy theme, Sydney Props offers a large range of bright, playful and larger than life props to create a detailed environment that suits both large and small event venues.
Start with one of our superbly painted backdrops depicting a fantasy mushroom forest, add huge entrance gates with pillars, hedges and flowering trees. Add a variety of topiary’s, an assortment of mushrooms and toadstools, indoor grass and grass covered furniture.
Complete the theme with giant teacups, flamingos, oversized rabbits, large playing card cut outs, giant lollypops and colourful butterflies.
Our Alice in Wonderland Theme can easily be expanded by including props and event decor from our Mad Hatters Tea Party Theme and our Rustic Banquet and Enchanted Garden Themes.
One Thousand and One Nights
Our popular Arabian Theme is great for both interior and exterior themed environments, not only for corporate and private events, but also photographic shoots, studio productions and theatre.
Against Arabian desert backdrops, Bedouin tents adorn the painted landscape richly decorated with colourful fabrics – the interiors dressed lavishly with Middle Eastern Decor. Your prop selection may include gold urns, pots, columns with minarets, domes, Persian carpets and rugs, aftabas, hookah pipes and cushions.
Lamps, baskets, clay jars, statues, musical instruments, assorted palm trees, camel cutouts and glowing lanterns. This styling is ideal for creating a chill out or cocktail area draped with star cloths, where guests can lounge on colourful woven cushions and be fascinated by exotic trinkets.
With additional props from our Pirate Theme, our Arabian Theme can be transformed to create an Aladdin’s Cave or a Desert Camp for Ali Baba and his Forty Thieves.
Me Tarzan - you Jane
Our Jungle Theme is a crowd favourite. A place where exotic wild animals lurk within the shadows of the deepest darkest jungles and ancient ruins can be discovered rising out from the jungle undergrowth. Our series of jungle inspired backdrops green and lush, feature hidden glades with bubbling streams, waterfalls and twisting hanging vines.
Well suited for both large and small venues, set the scene for your event with a rustic wooden foot bridge, stone statues, temple ruins and a selection of rocks and boulders that form hidden caves and grottos amongst the large tree trunks and lush foliage. The tropical jungle is filled with a variety of palms, bamboo, exotic flowering species and dense ground covers whilst lianas hang from the dark forest canopy.
Jungle themed props that include native artefacts and both miniature and life-size jungle creatures, can be found hidden in the shadows or peeking from their hidden sanctuaries beneath heavy camouflage netting. Service huts, bamboo bars and rustic table settings provide for the comfort and service of every Tarzan and Jane whilst the sounds of the jungle and a distant waterfall can be heard throughout the mysterious illuminated jungle setting.
Great Gatsby Theme
Inspired by the novel “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sydney Props can tailor a package to suit your needs and budget including lights, sound and entertainment whether your requirement is an intimate setting for a small group or a large gala dinner for 500 or more guests.

Masquerade Theme
Our popular Masquerade Theme has it all and makes for a memorable special event or corporate function.
Here the guest is transported back to a time in history when the Masquerade Ball was a feature of the Carnival Season. Masked characters and street performers also in fancy dress were engaged to mingle and entertain the crowd. This elegant theme combines lavish drapery and painted backdrops as well as statuary and architectural elements like archways, columns, balustrades and working fountains.
Hollywood Theme
Our Hollywood props set the scene for a directorial debut or a glittering awards ceremony where celebrities walk the red carpet and pose for paparazzi. This theme is always popular for trade shows, event spectaculars, gala dinners, photo ops, themed parties and training session and can easily be tailored to suit your venue and budget.
Select film making props from the celluloid era, life-size colourful characters based on mega movie stars like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis, painted cutouts, brilliantly coloured backdrops, illuminated Hollywood signs, velvet drapes, red carpet and chrome-plated bollards.
