Cleopatra, Early Australia, 1920s and Medieval Theme
In this newsletter we showcase four great historical themes – Cleopatra, Early Australia, 1920s to 1930s and Medieval. All of these themes have beautifully painted backdrops, replica and some authentic props from the era, as well as cutouts – and all are suitable for small and large venues. We have also updated some of the Ready-to-Shoot Sets in Studio 7 and 8.
Ancient Egyptian Theme
Ancient times…ancient lands, the greatness that was Ancient Egypt is captured in our Cleopatra Theme.
Cleopatra was a great ruler of the Egyptian Kingdom which was wealthy and powerful. She lived amongst pyramids and had gold and other riches at her fingertips. Although she had many preoccupations, she admired beauty and grandeur. Create her world with our Egyptian statues, high back gold cane chair, palms and sphinx statue. We also have a large range of cut-outs with camels, Tutankhamen and other Egyptian relics you can use to create the environment required.
Early Australia Theme
Whether it’s historic Australia, the Australian bush, or outback, our backdrops will set the scene. Transform your event space with our colonial theme, depicting our early pioneers and settlers. Colonial artefacts, convict tools, farming implements and milk urns, hay bales and wool bales, windmills and even a full-size wood hut, create that quintessential rustic Australiana experience for your guests.
Check out our life size horses, saddlery, flags, artificial campfire, rocks and boulders as well as our selection of animal skulls and iconic Aussie animal statues and cutouts. Vintage signs, motor oil cans and other Aussie memorabilia can add to the authenticity of your styling and rustic tables and seating can provide for the comfort of your guests or clients.
1920s to 1930s Theme
Prohibition Era
The production, sale and consumption of alcohol might’ve been illegal, but the Prohibition Era was extremely wild and extremely glamorous. In fact, just about everything was glamourised – crime, alcohol, dancers, performers, fashion, and cars.
Use props from our Prohibition Era Theme to create a dark majestic club and bar, with flappers, art deco features and draping. You can also recreate a distillery with our alcohol still and barrels or create a gangster hideout with our range of cutouts and backdrops.
Medieval Theme
The pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true!” (Court Jester 1955)
Hijinks in the high court – what medieval mayhem is this? A king, his queen, their faithful servants – a wicked plot, an evil witch – a handsome knight, if not too bright – a damsel in distress. You supply the drama; we’ll supply the props. We can do the drama too, including jesters, magicians, Medieval minstrels, acrobats, and dancers.
Stone walls and iron grates do not a castle make but it comes close – and with colourful flags, pennants and crests, thrones, suits of armour, candelabra, statues, shields, banquet tables, goblets, and a sumptuous feast – your guests will think they are in hallowed halls, drinking the king’s wine, raising toasts to the realm.
